This match has given me a migraine, so am sitting in front of the telly popping pills and hoping that with Sachin bowling now, india could get a few more wickets....
Ok so the writing is on the wall, the Aussies won the toss and now shall bat india out of this game.
I am reaching a point where i am beginning to hate cricket.
Also while the anthems ring out, memories of March 23rd 2003 come flooding back.

The ghosts of 2003 still haunt the indian team, honestly even though i would love to see the aussies get trashed tonight but i know its not going to happen, a lot of people have asked me if we will win tonight and all i have to say to them is
'When was the last time india beat the aussies in a world cup? do you even remember? it was the 28th of october 1987, it was diwali and i was in 3rd grade, its been 24  long years, you think i dont want this? i want as bad as anyone out there, but then again i am being practical, we dont have a bowling attack, shewag is not playing, our batting loves to crumble, our captain is on low grade ganja ever since he married that gharwali, so dude where is the hope?"

West Indian cricket died with the retirement of Richards and Marshall, a lot would then pose a question about Lara's emergence and his presence in the team ? And my answer would be -he was just an aberration, an interim relief if one can say so.

So just as the first Qf kicked off between Pakistan and the West Indies, the result was a forgone conclusion however the ever optimists' i am sure felt with Gayle and Pollard anything could happen!!

At 72 for 8 in 29 overs, this is most disappointing performance one could have expected from the Windies, at some level i do feel that maybe the Bangla tigers would have been better opponents  to the crazy Pakis, especially with the fact that match was hosted at Mirpur.
As disappointing as it can get.

So where do the Windies go from here? Home obviously, but....
Firstly Sammy needs to step down as the captain, he just doesnt fit the bill, secondly and more importantly someone needs to sit Chris down and get some sense into his Predator look alike brains and maybe just maybe hand him back the Captaincy.
Finally the Board needs to step in and look into the restructuring the entire cricketing scenario right from the school levels, encouraging more kids to play cricket rather than get poached by those Basketball agents.
Sad state of affairs.
" Every day the future looks a wee bit darker, but the past, even the grimy parts of it keep on getting brighter..."
Anger is relative, it has no boundaries, its beautifully self consuming, sometimes and just sometimes it gives you a reason to live, a reason to smile, a reason to fight, a reason to stand up for one's rights.
I spent the whole of last night plotting, planning and reading, i lay awake in my study, smoking endlessly, the pain was eased by the anger ( nerve relaxants helped too).
By the time the sun rose over Delhi i was ready, and round two was put into place.
I am not giving in without a fight, not this time.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Ill take a moment, just a small one while i am at it, a moment which gave me a new reason to live, a new reason to fight, a reason which made me so mad i broke a macbook and another blackberry, a moment so angsty i almost imploded, like a black hole i stood there burning within, sucking in all in its path.
It couldnt be happening to me, getting fucked over by fine print!!! My insurance company had swindled its way out, a way where they wont have to pay for my uber expensive surgery.
But they forgot, fine print is like a double edged sword, it has the potential of of destroying both the author and its victim.
Thanks to all those years of being trained as a lawyer where you are taught not only to fuck the fucker but also fuck WITH  the fucker, if you can permit me to say so, thankfully i just found that one sub clause which has the potential to suck in that insurance company into this beautiful black hole i have created.

Dear Insurance company, I am coming after you, lock stock and all my smoking barrels, if you can try and fuck me with fine print, then SO CAN I!!

Longing to Belong
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI4KypyxQ5s

Thank you Eddie
Some great news
http://www.pearljam.com/news/new-eddie-vedder-record-and-dvd-coming-may-31
With every spring, comes the flaming red flowers of the Seemal tree. Delhi looks different, Delhi looks vibrant.

For the last two years i have been dying to shoot the Seemal trees of Delhi, but last year i was in the US shooting the Grand Canyons and this year i have been laid low by screwed shoulder and neck.
Even though i did manage one decent picture of the flaming flowers but the shot i am looking for might have to wait another year.

Monday morning's are dreary as always, a week to go before i come under the surgeons knife and have silicon implants in my spine (which makes me the butt of all jokes these days), i was hoping to find the newspaper to read (always a good thing after an indian victory and something thats been rather rare over the past 3 weeks) i was rudely reminded that we get no newspapers the day after Holi.
Just had to make do with all the online news.
Further as i sat in my patio sipping my coffee, i couldnt help but think, how different the neighborhood looked.  In Delhi’s spring, leaves fall instead, heralding the coming of summer when the water will be scarce and sandstorms from Rajasthan will be a daily occurrence.
The street across my house looked strangely enchanting with all those leaves strewn around and the wind playing with them.

It hurts to love cricket these days, it hurts to watch the Indian team play like bunnies with a carrot up their arse, it hurts to imagine Sachin bidding adieu to the game without winning the world cup.
Long before the world cup started, the Indians were slated as the favorites and rightfully so. They were playing at home; they were coming into the world cup with a lot of form behind them, beating the best teams and showing great promise.
But a month into the Cup, their bowling looks in complete disarray and their batsmen seem to have been inspired by the Kamikaze soldiers from the 2nd World War.
A near disaster against England, a farce against the Dutch and a disaster against the Proteas is how you can sum up India’s world cup campaign so far.

If that wasn’t all, the Windies are on the verge of taking the wind out of this Indian team tonight.
Its all too sad, its all too heart wrenching to watch.
I want to personally thank the Indian Cricket team for ensuring that i start smoking again!! 47 days down the drain..
This is deja vu, as mentioned three weeks ago, this world cup is killing me.

There is only one man in the indian team that wants to win this world cup, the rest seem to be seriously high on low grade ganja. Seriously fuck you all!!!
Its true, the Indian team somewhere over the last month lost its Mojo!!! Yet again they are looking down the barrel after a decently good start.
Loosing wickets like nine pins has become a habit.
Disappointing day in the office yet again

And while India struggle (or so it might seem) against the once Mighty West Indies at the cauldron they call Chepauk in the land of the idli and the dosa, i cant help but acknowledge the efforts of one, Steven Tikolo.
The poor man's Vivian Richards, the former captain of the once threatening to be almost mighty Kenyans.

His World cup debut 50 against India at Cuttack in 1996 was as good an innings a Kenyan could muster. Unfortunately he has been and shall remain the only bright light in short and slightly morbid Kenyan Cricket history.

Thanks to ICC's policy to relegate the associates like Kenya into mothball rolled trunks its hard to imagine if we will ever see the likes of Kenya or Tikolo lighting up another World Cup.
Steve Tikolo- Take a Bow.

Saturday, March 19, 2011

Its been a month and a half since i last smoked, but honestly every now and then the urge to smoke is way too over powering.
The current instance being right now, i am so dying to smoke, its incredible!!
Lets hope i can go through the night without giving into the urge.
There is no greater joy than watching the Aussies lose but ... but...watching Pakistan win is even worse!!!
What a dilemma...
If Australia maintain their unbeaten run, while West Indies lose against India just as Bangladesh look to be doing against South Africa, the quarter-finals could be as follows.
Australia v West Indies in Dhaka; India v New Zealand in Ahmedabad; Pakistan v South Africa in Dhaka, and England v Sri Lanka in Colombo

Friday, March 18, 2011

Anyways with me showing no signs of recovering and India showing no signs of winning this Cup, i have in consultation with my doctors scheduled my surgery for the 29th of March. In a lot of ways i am glad that ill be passed out, cut open and oblivious to my surroundings while India loses the Cup.
However as things stand i am scared that they might not even make it to the Quarters...
Thank you Irish for your spirited cricket, this World Cup around!!

England o' England - How you light up this Cup

As I stay tuned to tonight’s super important match between England and the once Mighty Windies' I cant help but think of England’s whirlwind campaign this time around.
Its been incredible, its been farcical, its been nervy, its been everything a cricket scribe could ask for and more.

Its mind numbing to think that it actually almost came down to Mr Trott’s shirt. Who would have thought that Mr Trott’s slightly over sized shirt could (almost) be their ticket back home (which they anyways have been threatening to do right from the word go)

A painful hernia, an opening swing bowler who forgot the meaning of the word swing, a brilliant side strain,  a tie that should have been nothing but a victory, a victory against the Proteas which was nothing but the latter choking, an Irish whipping and the Bangla dew . Name it and we have seen it.

This England team has been crazy, blame the Ashes , blame the weather, the food, the injuries, but this World cup would have been boring as hell if it wasn’t for them.
Edge of the seat stuff, I do feel for Struass, he does have a mighty heart.

However as I write this, Windies need 21 to win of 42 balls and by getting Russell’s and Sarwan’s wicket they are yet again turning the match on its head.
Holy Crap!!! Prove me wrong and how!!!

England o England….  How  did you manage to pull this off yet AGAIN?

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

News about Japan, just distresses me no end, its heart wrenching.
First the earthquake, then the tsunami and now the radiation leak.
Please cmon let this all end soon.
'23' plays while i sip on some chilean wine on a patio with distant thoughts of friends lost play through my head.

Monday, March 14, 2011

Thats it then, the much dreaded yet awaited surgery has been confirmed for next week. I have rather mixed feelings to be honest...

Saturday, March 12, 2011

The good ol days are back, the days where Indians mastered the art of grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory, days where the team revolved around Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.
This evening  (cant believe I am saying this) but india deserved to lose. They had no business  throwing  away their last 9 wickets for 29 runs and the captain further had no business giving the last over to Ashish Nehra. How could he, especially when Bhajji had an over up his sleeve,  SHOCKING!!!!

Few things we need to get straight, Sachin alone cant win us the Cup, Dhoni needs to start thinking straight, I am not sure what he is smoking these days, but it surely aint good stuff and finally India should donate Chawla and Nehra to Pakistan, we as a country are so much better without them.
Ah well, from a position of great strength the indian does what it has always done best, losing 9 wickets for  29 runs after Lord Sachin scored a sublime century...
Thank you indian cricket team for screwing my evening and how!!!!
India playing SA this afternoon, and i am shitting bricks, from the face of it, i think Dale the destructive Steyn and Mornie the marauding  Morkel will blow us away...

Friday, March 11, 2011

I am not a freaking guinea pig!!!! " lets rub some green leaves on your neck and the pain shall vanish"- Who the fuck are these doctors kidding!!!! Ayurveda up my arse
My prayers go out to the people of Japan, really really heart wrenching news.
Walking through the sands of time, Victoria Terminal Bombay

Honestly i hate the month of March, taxes to be paid, returns to be filed, all those expenses, Lord am i broke or what this Month?
Only 4 shoots so far and all those bills to pay!!!
Crazy crazy state of existence these days
Anyways government apart,  i did go for the india v netherlands match at the Kotla yesterday, honestly i had no plans to attend the said match, but then the thought of watching Lord Sachin bat live in a one day international for the last time was too tempting.
Aching back, neck and shoulder apart,  i drove up to the stadium with no ticket, desperately  in search of either a poor soul who could have a spare ticket or a black marketer who would sell me one at an unjustified price.
Luckily for me i found the former and got a great seat in the north stand.

At the end of it, and after watching Sachin bat for 45 mins i told myself- "this is it- i can now die"
So now the government wants to monitor all blogs in india, wow!!! where are we heading? Another Libya? another Egypt? what the hell is wrong with this government?
What about freedom of speech? expression? democracy?
Fuck this government

Tuesday, March 08, 2011

Its a weird state to be me these days, i am quite fucked in the head to be honest, i cant describe it, but the closest word i can find to describe my state of being is NUMB.
So i was home this weekend, put through a hoard of tests including but not limited to an MRI, which revealed my neck read C 4 and C5 were in a terrible state and need to be either removed or replaced.
Which entails a major surgery, something i have been avoiding for a long time, but i guess its inevitable now.

Thursday, March 03, 2011

Wow what a match last night, Irish creamed the English!!! Watch out India and well the Canadians had such a great chance of beating those Pakis, but sighh!!!, Afridi the mountain stood between the Canadians and an improbable victory.
Anyways am off to Doon tomorrow after a long long time, an MRI, a wedding and lectures from the mother await me..

Wednesday, March 02, 2011

By the way, i am rooting for the Irish against the English tonight, even though the chances are bleak (despite Kevin O Brien's blitz), but who knows, anything is possible in the game of cricket
Ah well, so it took me a while to get over Sunday, crazy match on a crazy pitch. Anyways March came with a bang, two shoots in two days, pretty darn long and tiring.
The neck and shoulder still havent healed but i guess i need to keep shooting a bit.
Also in all likelihood i am heading to Doon over the weekend for a childhood friend's wedding.
Slightly torn about going home, on one hand i really want to go and on the other, i am just not well enough to travel.

Sunday, February 27, 2011

Ok thats it i am convinced this World Cup will kill me...
Thanks to this match i am on the verge of restarting smoking, the stress is killing me...
I am so upset, that i think i am going to cry all night and the sombre mood is going to slip into the coming week.
Even thinking of suing the Indian cricket team for damages, both mental and financial..
As i type this, india is on the verge of grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory. After scoring 338, which in my opinion was a wee bit less (though not bad at all) than what they should have got had they not committed hara kiri in the last 4 overs of their innings.
From the looks of if, India cant win this Cup, they just dont have the bowling  or the fielding to take 10 wickets or even defend a huge total.
What a terrible weekend, Aussies won, Pakis won, and now india is on the verge of losing.
Its a black black day here ....

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Atleast one thing came out of the Aus v Zim match  yesterday, which is that the Aussies are going to have a tough time playing spin.
On a different note, the world cup fever has gripped the Sethi residence and how, first a new Tv and now tata sky hd plus, as we speak i am enjoying the Holland v England match on HD and without commercials. What joy!!
I am a firm believer that commercials should be banned during games period!!
And finally my tickets for the WI v SA match were delivered this morning. Cant wait to watch the match live.

Monday, February 21, 2011

Just got back home to see the Zimbabwe team tightening their noose around the Mighty Aussies, with still 5 overs to go in the Aussie innings anything is possible.
But ill give anything to see the Aussies go down to the spirited Zimbabweans

Sunday, February 20, 2011

Strange how things change when one quits smoking or rather things one has to do to ensure you stay away from the death stick.

As i write this, Delhi is being peppered with the last of the winter showers, its grey and streaks of orange caress the sky, but instead of sitting out in my patio and enjoying this, i am vegetating on my couch, just to ensure that the urge to smoke doesnt get the better of me.
But maybe  i can just pop a nicorette gum and see how this goes?
Well, what a Sunday morning, just finished watching the Kiwi's steamroll the poor ol' Kenyans for a mere 69. How one sided can a game be??
So a decent match? Maybe, I mean 370 was a huge total, but at some level i did feel that India was not playing at 100%. In a way its good we aint peaking too early.

On a different note watching NZ rip through the Kenyans.

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Mid way through the indian innings,  the stress levels are slowly but surely getting out of control, India just lost its second wicket and on a pitch which is slow and holding up, it will be tough for india to post a big enough total. And if they fail to do so, then under lights and with Bangla dew covering the field, it will be really tough for india to win this match.
It is moments like these where i wonder if my decision to quit smoking was well timed??
So the world cup is finally underway, India take on Bangladesh at Mirpur, and i cant help but look back at March 2007, when india were screwed over by the same team at the Port of Pain.
India have lost the toss and thats made me more than nervous.

Thursday, February 17, 2011

World cup opening ceremony or a Bangladeshi circus?
Bangla Overdose!! what next? Bryan Adams singing in Bangla?
Nothing worse than watching Lip syncing Bangladeshi's at a World Cup Opening ceremony
World Cup Beat  Part 1
Banglabandhu stadium has never looked so good. Hoping the  opening ceremony isnt anything as bad as the one back in 1996 where the Laser Light show was a disaster from hell.

And now that the World Cup fever has rather slowly yet painfully gripped me let me state this- The if either Pakistan or Australia win this Cup i shall stop watching cricket indefinitely !!!
So the Cricket World cup technically kicks off this evening.
Four years of wait ends in a few hours and 44 days of stress kicks off.
Lots and lots more to come on the world cup...

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Two things, firstly i am rather proud that around 23 minutes back i crossed the one week barrier. I haven't smoked in a week and i think thats bloody good.

Secondly, my neck is still fucked, i just thank my lucky stars that i aint a Giraffe!! coz if i was one imagine the kind of pain i would have been in!!??

Physiotherapy helps but the constant pain is fucking with my brains and how. What hurts the most is the fact that i cant even lift a freaking camera these days.
Damn!!!

Sunday, February 13, 2011

On a rather sad note, i must say i am rather upset that one of the puppies is leaving today for good.
Its rather bittersweet, i am honestly sick of taking care of 4 dogs, the pee and poo o Lord!!!! But considering i had taken extra care of this one (the runt of the litter) staying up for night's at end feeding her from a bottle, she surely shall be missed.
However i am sure if i had kept her, i would have named her Phoolan Devi, thanks to her aggressive demeanor. Honestly despite her size she scares the hell out the two fat boys and her mother
Its strange when one is forced to stay away from things which become an integral part of one's life. The last 4 days have been hell, the pain in the neck and the shoulder reached the dizzy heights of 2009. Confined to bed i have done nothing but think, and read, thankfully Sachin's biography and Gibb's autobiography have given me good company.
On a positive note its been 5 days since i last smoked, i guess the longest since 2005. Pretty darn neat for someone who was smoking a pack a day.
The cold turkey was taken care for by the nicorette gums which to an extent have helped.
Now on a slow path to recovery i am hoping i am better soon.

Quit Smoking Attempt no. 1387-
Orange Juice - 8 cartons
Nicorette Chewing gums- 10 packs
Nicotine Patches- 2 packs
Mood Swing pills- 1 pack
Chocolate- 5 bars
Music Playlist- ACDC, Metallica, System of a Down
GOD SAVE ME!!!!

Monday, February 07, 2011

With every passing minute i get closer to the day i have to give away two of the three puppies. We love Zulu and he is almost family, but FAF and the wee one are going to be missed and how, i think i am gonna cry this weekend watching them leave..
Cant wait for this cough to subside, have been coughing like a road roller for a week now, and i cant see no signs of it abating, anti biotics, honey and ginger, ginger tea, weird  herbal concoctions  brewed by Bahadur and the Yogic guru i shot sometime back all have failed and how..
Cough you fucking Cough....
O winter where art thou? O Christmas where art thou?
O summer i hate thee..

Friday, February 04, 2011

You know something is not right when Metallica sounds like a soft Ballad!!!
Loud Music is therapeutic.. period!!
Sitting up in bed at 3 am aint the best way of dealing with pain, but then again I guess that’s the only way I know how to deal with this.

A meatloaf sandwich on a never-ending road leading into the crimson sunset.

Wednesday, February 02, 2011

Not a great way of starting your February, down with a bad flu and compound that with excruciating pain in the neck and shoulder, haven't moved an inch in 3 days and bored to death to add to it.

" All the SAME"

Thursday, January 27, 2011

Soul Searching.
Bits of my soul wander and live in people and places far and wide. Airports, hotels, beaches, mountains, airplanes, some war zones,  some places scary, some eternally beautiful, with friends across borders, some lost, some that will never be found again,  bits of me just live for me everywhere...

I am such a sucker for OST's these days, it kinda surprises me, but lately i have discovered particular tracks from OST's which are pretty darn awesome.
Just this afternoon i fell in love with 'Finale' by David Elfman from the OST of The Kingdom. Awesome!!!
So after not having worked out for almost two months, i finally started working out again, and this time with a friend who drives all the way to my place. Guess Brian and Nikhil are also joining me on Monday.
Yea its awesome, operation  'Last 15 kilos is underway'. Come May and i am hoping i dont fit into anything i own right now.

Tuesday, January 25, 2011

Ok so i am obsessed with cricket, its a rather well known and greatly documented fact. Its another thing i have not written about cricket for quite a while, and the reason for the same is , i am soo nervous about the upcoming world cup that even the thought of it aggravates my IBS.
Yes we have a great team, but then its all about performing under pressure and one bad day can throw india out of the Cup.
I was 3 years old when we last won the World Cup and now i am 31, for 28 long years i have waited for this moment, but i have a feeling that the wait shall continue....
In light of the above i am not looking forward to the Cup...
The news has always had a history of depressing me no end. The past few days have been an overdose of how the BJP wants to raise the National Flag in Kashmir, all good i say, but whats the need? Its already so fucked up, and politically motivated?
Why not instead stand up against corruption?, against the spiraling inflation?
Its all so shyte i say!!

Monday, January 24, 2011

Spent the entire weekend doing pretty much nothing, except building shelves for the loos and a light box.
Also trying my hand at building a new couch with the carpenter at home, a lot of work but its fun nonetheless,
I did have a shoot on Sunday but the guy backed out coz he thought i was wayyy over priced. Ridiculous i say!!
Suspended animation, stuck in time, in a vortex of nothingness, spinning slowly as the world around me hangs without a destination. Lightning bolts chase me very existence, shades of blue grey and orange mate to streak the sky. Shadows and light dance to the tune of darkness, beautiful yet painful, i spin helplessly, enjoying every bit of it.

Friday, January 21, 2011

Choices o choices i hate you. With the blackberry broken yet again, i am wondering, should it be another blackberry or should i finally plunge into the iphone? Considering i am such a 'mac guy' its only obvious that iphone should be the next step up, but i am so used to the bb that it might be a wee bit hard.

Then comes the second option, a new tv or a new couch, i wish i could afford both right now but as things stand i cant! So it has to be either one of the two, honestly i need both, a nice  new lazy couch for the lounge and a new flat screen for the bed room.
Arghh
Honestly i am a wee bit nervous about the upcoming project, its pretty much make or break time, way too much pressure. But to my advantage i am working on something that i pretty much consider my strength, shooting people  and places in their natural environment, using natural light.
10 shots - and i already have two in my head. Need to figure out the other 8

Am still shaken, slightly out of things, guess i need to sync back with reality.

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Earthqaukes and me just dont go together, honestly i have a phobia towards earthquakes since 91 and its never really improved.
Just last night delhi was shaken and slightly stirred by one and since then i have just not been right, its quite a shyte state of affairs .

In search for the perfect Monet Sky..

Saturday, January 15, 2011

Finally landed the biggest project of my life so far. Bombay trip fully successful.
Forgotten faces at Toto's

Thursday, January 13, 2011

Thanks to this government, hens have finally started laying golden eggs and buying onions is as arduous a task as buying diamonds.
Was watching the T 20 match between England and Australia last evening, when i saw the cricketers walking around the stadium collecting money for the flood victims, its pretty sad how things are turning out in Brisbane, i used to have a close friend studying there, glad the person aint there no more.
Hope things get better soon.
I just had to do it, despite telling my self a million times  i had to put my self in harmsway. All while the riots ensued, with teargas shells going off around me, i tried taking some shots of the entire situation.
And just before i could get trigger happy i was chased by cops and almost had my camera snatched from me.
Damn!!, but atleast i tried.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Strange things happen around here, sometimes i wonder about Delhi, a city i used to hate and now i call it home.
Just last night the cops demolished a mosque in Nizammudin, the outcome is just what you can expect, riots in the name of God, people injured, establishments shut et al.
When will people stop killing in the name of God?
There is no greater joy than watching your puppies open their eyes. Finally on day 15 Zulu opened his eyes for a few seconds.
The other two still havent showed any signs of doing so, but i am sure its going to happen in a day or so.

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

Every now and then you rediscover a song, a song which brings back memories from a once forgotten past.
Sitting by the fire, in the cold of the winter, surrounded by books, the greyness of the clouds brightened by the lyrics.
All so beautiful.
A new week, and back to performing an old role. Gullible as i might be, i am old enough to say no, but like always i guess ill never learn to say no.
Thanks to the shoot on Sunday with the ex boss, i am back to being a human rights lawyer this week. Not too sure if i am going to enjoy this. At a lot of levels i am convinced that i am completely incapable of doing anything which could even remotely be construed as intellectually simulating.
See this is the problem when you live in a flux, a different cape for everyday, human rights lawyer, corporate fuck the other, freelance photographer the next and every now and then an editor for a legal magazine.
Why cant i ever stick to doing one thing? But i guess that aint me, or is it?
Anyways for a change i am sitting in an office after quite a while and honestly it feels all alien to me.

Monday, January 10, 2011

Spent the Sunday shooting a high profile lunch at the ex -boss's posh Bunglow on a cold and grey sunday afternoon.
Pretty decent shots despite the light etc, also landed a few more shoots for March and April.
Anyways work on the hand book goes on, spent a lot of thought on the coffee table book i have been thinking about for a while now, just happy i am penning down what i might want in it. the problem is i am living in Monochrome these days, color just doesnt do it for me ( atleast for now), so am looking and thinking everything in black & white.
The issue then being, that it would be impossible to come up with a 150 varied subjects in monochrome.

Saturday, January 08, 2011

Ever since I got back, I haven’t really touched my cameras, I guess it’s much needed, I feel every now and then you need to walk away from what you do, and the break refreshes everything.
Photography like pretty much everything is all about perceptions and imaginations thrown into a cauldron of productivity, which almost definitely needs some time out.
I have instead concentrated on giving classes and putting together a hand-book (for my personal use) of going about things.
Amongst the millions of things I need to improve on, the one thing that’s high on my agenda is shooting macro in bright light. At some levels I guess I have always screwed my DOF with over exposure, a classic example was the red tentacle spider I shot in the dense forests of Nepal. I used two different lenses to shoot it, the 100mm macro, and 24-70mm both f/s2.8.

The results were very similar yet it lacked the punch. I guess its time I hit the drawing board and relook at shooting macro.
This Government makes me feel like I am stuck in the Arsehole of the World !!!
Where is the accountability?
Winter Mayhem
And we thought last year was cold, who were we kidding? This year takes the cake and how, I have never seen Delhi this cold.
Woke up this morning and found my car covered in frost!!
All this is great coz I love the winters, but spare a thought to the homeless, who languish on the streets braving the cold. Sorry yet sad state of affairs, hurts me no ends.

Friday, January 07, 2011

Discovering and loving the Band of Horses, very decent music, especially their album titled " cease to begin",
127 hours, an incredible yet really tough movie to watch...

Thursday, January 06, 2011

2011, hmm, I need to get used to it I guess, honestly its been a bang already, back from my long yet rather fruitful trip (have already got orders for 20 prints- phew can pay some more bills).
Though I have hardly slept the past 12 days, especially the last 4, thanks to zara and the zuppies, who insist on keeping me up all night, fun? Maybe not but an experience nonetheless.

Monday, January 03, 2011
